The corridor that carries most of it: the Interstate 30 and Interstate 35W Mixmaster and the Interstate 35W Alliance corridor.

Why Fort Worth Crashes Happen Where They Do

The Interstate 30 and Interstate 35W junction downtown, still called the Mixmaster, forces traffic across four decision points in under a mile and it sets the tone for the whole city. North of it, the Interstate 35W corridor through Alliance carries heavy truck volume to the distribution centers and the managed lane entrances add weaving. Loop 820 on the north and east sides runs express and general lanes side by side at different speeds. Off the freeways, Hulen Street, Camp Bowie Boulevard and Lancaster Avenue carry the arterial crash load.

What Fort Worth Drivers Should Know

  • Your insurer can recommend a shop. It cannot require one. That right is in Texas Insurance Code 1952.301.
  • If the other driver caused it, their insurance pays for the repair.
  • On a small repair, paying yourself can cost less than a claim. Get the free estimate first, then decide.
  • Not-at-fault claims usually do not touch your rate. At-fault claims usually do, and that call belongs to your insurer, not to us.
