Driving in Arlington

Arlington sits between Dallas and Fort Worth with Interstate 30, Interstate 20 and State Highway 360 boxing it in and Cooper Street, Collins Street and Division Street carrying the interior. The entertainment district adds stadium traffic on top of a city of 400,000 with no rail backbone.

The corridor that carries most of it: Cooper Street through the UTA campus and Interstate 30 at the entertainment district.

Why Arlington Crashes Happen Where They Do

Three things drive the Arlington crash count. Interstate 30 through the entertainment district loads and unloads tens of thousands of vehicles around events, and the Collins Street and Ballpark Way ramps take that surge. State Highway 360 on the east side runs at freeway speed past frontage road signals at Abram, Division and Arkansas. And Cooper Street is a six-lane arterial through the UTA campus with a continuous turn lane, retail entrances and student pedestrians, which is why so much of the city's total sits on a road posted at 40.

Neighborhoods We Serve

What Arlington Drivers Should Know

  • Your insurer can recommend a shop. It cannot require one. That right is in Texas Insurance Code 1952.301.
  • If the other driver caused it, their insurance pays for the repair.
  • On a small repair, paying yourself can cost less than a claim. Get the free estimate first, then decide.
  • Not-at-fault claims usually do not touch your rate. At-fault claims usually do, and that call belongs to your insurer, not to us.
