The corridor that carries most of it: Interstate 30 on the Lake Ray Hubbard bridge approaches at Ridge Road and Horizon Road.

Why Rockwall Crashes Happen Where They Do

Interstate 30 crosses Lake Ray Hubbard on a long bridge with no shoulders and no exits, and Rockwall owns both approaches. Any incident on the bridge backs traffic into the Ridge Road and Horizon Road ramps within minutes, and that's where the rear-end chains happen. State Highway 205, Goliad Street, runs through the older part of town with retail entrances and left turns across four lanes. John King Boulevard takes the newer east-side traffic and connects back to the interstate at the far end.

What Rockwall Drivers Should Know

  • Your insurer can recommend a shop. It cannot require one. That right is in Texas Insurance Code 1952.301.
  • If the other driver caused it, their insurance pays for the repair.
  • On a small repair, paying yourself can cost less than a claim. Get the free estimate first, then decide.
  • Not-at-fault claims usually do not touch your rate. At-fault claims usually do, and that call belongs to your insurer, not to us.
