Driving in Melissa

Melissa sits on US 75 between McKinney and Anna, a town that has tripled in size while keeping the same interchange. FM 2478 and Melissa Road carry the traffic that doesn't use the highway.

Why Melissa Crashes Happen Where They Do

Melissa's whole road network hangs off one overpass. US 75 runs past at highway speed with no local access except the Melissa Road bridge, so the school campuses, the newer retail and thirty-odd subdivisions all route to the same handful of frontage road signals. Drivers heading south toward McKinney build speed on the frontage road and merge late. FM 2478 is the only alternative, a two-lane county route with driveways cut straight into it and nothing on the edge to recover on.

Neighborhoods We Serve

We take Melissa vehicles from Melissa proper, Liberty, Trinity Falls, and everywhere in between. Drop the car at our Lewisville shop, or send us photos first and we'll tell you whether it's worth the trip.

What Melissa Drivers Should Know

  • Your insurer can recommend a shop. It cannot require one. That right is in Texas Insurance Code 1952.301.
  • If the other driver caused it, their insurance pays for the repair.
  • On a small repair, paying yourself can cost less than a claim. Get the free estimate first, then decide.
  • Not-at-fault claims usually do not touch your rate. At-fault claims usually do, and that call belongs to your insurer, not to us.
